Lake Mountain offers an extensive network of well marked and maintained trails for bushwalking options and exploring the resort and bordering Yarra Ranges National Park.
The most popular choice is to venture up to the Lake Mountain summit at 1433 metres. It has spectacular views and on a clear day you can see the CBD of Melbourne. Alternatively you can explore the sub-alpine ski and walking trail network on Echo Flat and beyond on the Lake Mountain Plateau. More than 30 kilometres of trails are available, winding their way through snow gums, heathlands and fields of wildflowers. The plateau provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing picnic in the refreshing alpine environment.
The Bjarne K Dahl Memorial Walk at Snowy Hill has an all ability access boardwalk with information and history relating to Lake Mountain.
