For many visitors the toboggan slopes are the main attraction at Lake Mountain. There is somewhere to try for all ages and levels of skill...or bravery!!   Early in the day is likely to give you the fastest run. You can hire all you need at Lake Mountain.

Races: our guest services team run activities on busy days. Get involved in a toboggan race. Have a go and you might win a prize!  

Slopes include:

• Village Run. Next to the visitor centre. Very popular with a moderate slope. Fun for everybody. Groomed. Snow making area.
• Koala Creek. Close to the visitor centre. A bit steeper where bumps and dips can form. Good Tube run. Groomed. Snow making area.
• Leadbeater's Run. Sheltered moderate slope with some steeper sections.  200m from the village carpark. Groomed.
•  Arnolds Gap. The fastest run. A steep slope 4km back from the village. Needs very good snow conditions. A real buzz!!!

Safety

• Only moulded plastic toboggans are allowed. Staff will not let you use other items. Fines can be applied.
• Toboggan in designated area. Not among the trees and rocks!
• Only one person per toboggan. 
• Kneel in the toboggan.
• Do not make toboggan trains with other toboggans.
• A helmet is a smart idea.

Hiring Toboggans.

Conditions for hiring toboggans at Lake Mountain.

• The exact toboggan you have hired must be returned. Each one is numbered.
• A $50 fee will be charged for failing to return your toboggan.

We ask that toboggans be stored in your car when they are not being used. If you are parked further away from the village then you have an option to store your toboggan and other items in the ski trail head building.
